Unfocussed graduate + (Nun+Mother) x desperation – (intimidation x 2) + what do I have to lose? = Job as a 5th Grade Teacher
July 15, 2007 at 10:33 pm | In Update | 1 CommentWho says I can’t do 5th grade math?! ^_~
Anywho provided all goes well, I will be getting a job at an elementary school teaching 5th grade. I’m pretty excited. I actually don’t want to put the name of the school down because if the school that I might be working at is googled I don’t want the fact that I have this blog to be known. I’m already going to have to delete my myspace account, which I’m actually not all that upset about. I was thinking about doing it anyway. So, anywho… yay for me. I don’t have that same feeling of dread and inadequacy that I was overwhelmed with for the past month or so. Let me tell you, that is such a nice feeling. ^_^
I don’t really have that much else to report and I just so happen to be at work, so I really should be by the phone just in case there is some type of petticoat emergency… there are actually more of those than you would think around here. ^^;;
Flower Graffiti
July 3, 2007 at 5:57 am | In Graffiti, Life Questions, Thoughts | Leave a CommentHere’s a picture of an interesting type of graffiti that can be found around the Sacramento downtown area. They are on the sides of buildings, over sized dumpsters, fuse boxes, and pretty much any place that one would expect to find the “normal” type of graffiti (names, weird squiggles). When I saw it for the first time I was taken aback a little bit. I know that this would literally have to be called “vandalism” but I have to wonder what the inspiration for these little flowers was, especially after I started seeing them in multiple places. I can’t imagine that someone would have some kind of ill intentions in mind. Who could be offended by flowers? Granted, they are in places where they are not supposed to be, but they certainly put a smile on my face when I find them in random places around Sac. For the most part, downtown Sac is pretty clean. There are of course certain areas that I would not go to alone at night, but all in all, it’s tolerable. It’s certainly better than most parts of S.F. In any event, because things are pretty clean it’s rare to find graffiti at all. So why little flowers?
Doodling… Boredom? It’s childlike. It’s certainly feminine looking isn’t it? What is this person trying to say? Is this a preemptive strike of some sort? Is this person saying that the areas that were marked with flowers going to be marked with some type of unsightly graffiti anyway, so why not fill it with something cute? I’d rather like to think it wasn’t something that shallow. I suppose if this person really wanted to send a message or had a “real” reason to mark up downtown Sac he/she would have put something underneath the flowers for reference.
In any event, I’ve wanted to write something about this ever since I saw them. I thought it was something interesting. I was just thinking of what I could do that would reach many people that somehow portrayed my beliefs. I guess that’s what I’m doing right now. I also did the Vagina Monologues. Maybe that’s why I want to teach. But then again, I’m more interested in other people’s ideas than my own.
Gate Keepers
July 3, 2007 at 5:50 am | In anime | 1 CommentI just finished Gate Keepers. Scott made me watch it. ^_~ I liked it. FYI: The rest of this blog mentions some spoilers, so if you haven’t seen this anime and would like to don’t read any further. It was a harem but with action. I wasn’t really told much about it, nor did I research it before I watched it, so I was pleasantly surprised. I pretty much watched it in one sitting, so that was good. It was certainly one of those animes that are fun to marathon. It’s not particularly draining, so I was able to take everything in in one sitting. I’d have to say my fav character was Kaoru. I loved the fact that her “costume” was her P.E. uniform with the little bloomers and everything. ^^;; She was simply very endearing. And I loved the fact that Bancho ended up having Gate ability after all. Awww. I also must say that everything was explained pretty well. The whole invaders thing could have been one of those “suspend your disbelief” kind of thing, but I felt like the reason that the invaders were there and propagating and was fairly believable. I suppose you just kind of have to assume the whole “gate” ability is believable. The anime was very “matrixy” at times which was pretty funny. I thought the end battle was a little bit anti-climactic. Maybe I’ve watched too much Bleach and I’m used to battles lasting at least an entire episode. But the whole almost apocalypse was pretty cool. And of course you had the “yelling confession.” I always love those. ^_^ “Why would I give my most treasured possession to someone I didn’t like? You’re my beloved!” Awww! Yay! And then the kiss… of course. ^_^
The OVA was pretty darn surprising I must say. I hadn’t really planned on watching that in the same day (I finished it at like 2:30 a.m.), but my mind was keeping me awake so I decided to put those on and WOW! The characters were pretty darn interesting. I bet they could have easily done a 13 episode OVA. It would have been cool to get a little more Ukiya stuff coming from his daughter’s point of view. I did wonder why it was set in the 1960s. Maybe that was the turning point for Japan? The contrast with the 60s and the present day OVA was very well done. Pretty much every anime makes my desire to go to Japan grow stronger. When I saw the OVA I did take a step back. I mean, whether the anime is trying to portray a good or bad image of Tokyo it’s going to be exaggerated either way, so I know to take it with a grain of salt, but it certainly didn’t look like fun all the time. It was the crowds that made me cringe a bit. The fact that pretty much every Japanese person became an Invader was pretty interesting. The Japanese are usually known for having a pretty strong sense of ethnic pride. It’s interesting that the OVA portrayed pretty much everyone as rotten. It was very different from the 60s where it was only people who were “unpleasant.” I guess the creators felt like humanity was devolving.
All in all, I was pretty impressed mostly because I wasn’t expecting anything. You know, maybe it was because it’s been forever since I’ve watched something new all the way through. Lately it’s all been watching things as they come out. It was refreshing to be able to instantly go to the next episode. ^_^ So, thanks Scott for letting me borrow this. After I catch up on all the anime I’m watching I’ll be sure to watch “Magical Shoujo etc…” ^_^
Literature within Literature
June 14, 2007 at 8:00 am | In books | 3 CommentsThis is the first book I have read for fun this summer following an excruciatingly long and painful three months of reading over 70 pieces of literature for my M.A. exam. I simply pulled it off the “New Authors” shelf at B&N and read synopsis and was intrigued. Here’s what B&N had to say:
The Barnes & Noble Review from Discover Great New Writers
“The title character of Savage’s debut novel, Firmin, is a civilized rat, born in a used bookstore in Boston’s grimy Scollay Square. Looking at the world “through cracks,” and desperately hungry, he gnaws his way through a book, and — miracle of miracles — teaches himself to read. Alas, the “cracks” widen and the world opens its arms to him. Well, sort of. For in fact, the more literate Firmin becomes, the more alienated he feels from the other members of his species. Unable to communicate with the humans he comes to love (despite repeated efforts to vocalize the words he has learned), he is left isolated and alone, a rat in search of his “destiny.”
Filled with longing and loss, Firmin also details the demolition of a piece of history. For as Firmin grows up, the buildings of 1960s Scollay Square are coming down. A profound study of alienation and the heartbreaking obscurity of the outsider, Firmin is also a piercing commentary on the human condition in an ever-changing society. Savage weaves an inventive and dreamlike tale, by turns hilarious and startlingly moving, completely outlandish yet utterly credible, and sure to bring a smile of deep satisfaction to its readers. (Summer 2006 Selection)”
Sounds interesting huh? As a literature geek, I, of course, find myself intrigued by a book that bases much of its story on how other books affect the writing, characters, narration, plot, or any other part of the book. Firmin mentions a ridiculous amount of books. Amazon.com has a list, but it’s not the complete list. Just for my own benefit, I highlighted all of the books mentioned. I will only list authors and books that are specifically mentioned. There are a few times where simply authors are mentioned (i.e. page 16 Kant and Hegel among others), but I did not know as to what books Firmin was referring to, so I simply stuck with what was specifically mentioned. As I went through the text a number of important authors were mentioned and I thought it would be a shame to simply overlook that. So, I included the authors that were mentioned even if there was no specific text associated to it. There are actually a few ways books are mentioned. There are the points where Firmin was unable to read and he was simply eating random pieces of fiction and those are listed. There are points in which he compares himself or his life with a particular character or novel. The most curious way he mentions books is when he will have a sentence and then follows it with the name of a book that might have informed that sentence. I’ll give an example: “The way we always escape. By a miracle: the darkness, the rain, a crack in a doorway, a misstep by a pursuer. Pursuit and Escape in America’s Oldest Cities” (4). One can assume the books mentioned in this manner are books that Firmin read throughout his life. I did notice that these random mentions dwindle as the story becomes more involved and Firmin’s relationships deepen. Perhaps that is because Firmin is having to live his life on his own and no piece of fiction can correctly parallel what he is going through. Ok… this is why we do research ladies and gentlemen. I have come to find out after an exhaustive search that none of the books that are listed in the aforementioned way actually exist… ha ha ha. -__-;; So, my list is actually going to be quite shorter, but more comprehensive than the Amazon.com list. My new analysis for these “books” mentioned after a particular sentence is that these are books that Firmin had plans to write. Now that I look at it from that angle some of the books titles are actually quite amusing. The new analysis on why he lists fewer as time goes on may be that he has lost his passion for writing or has become ridiculously embittered. Ha… Try to imagine me on google and then going so far as to go to CSUS’s database in order to find these books that were made up by Sam Savage… O_o Anywho…
Alrighty, let’s get on with the list. I’ve become distracted numerous times while trying to write this blog and if I don’t do this now I don’t think I’ll get to it later. ^^;;

Wow! That took a lot longer than I thought it would. ^^;; I hope you enjoyed that. Firmin also mentions quite a few movies, but I’m so very tired so I’m not going to look at those right now.
This was actually a pretty fun project. I’m glad I made myself do it. As I went through the novel again I think I confirmed my idea that Firmin mentions fewer books because they can no longer inform what he is going through; it is too personal. For as much a one can read a novel and go “that’s me!” in reality it isn’t. While literature, movies, music, art can help us get a grasp on our own selves, outside sources cannot be the only ones. I won’t ruin the end of the novel just in case you decide to read it, but there’s a scene that solidifies this idea at the end of the novel. ^_^
I’ve also read The Road by Cormac McCarthy. Great novel… I don’t think I’m going to analyze it. I’ll prolly only do that for a choice few this summer. The one I’m reading now is a collection of essays entitled Twenty-eight Artists and Two Saints by Joan Acocella. It’s great so far. Essays are a nice change and some of the essays are about writers or daughters/wives/husbands/lovers of different authors. Is it sad that that’s fun for me? ^^;; The next on my list is Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. Then I’m going to tackle Mark Z. Danielewski’s Only Revolutions. O_O Wish me luck. I may get the audio version so I can read along. I think that will help.
Alrighty… that’s it. I might do an anime blog next. ^_^
Anime I’m Watching
May 29, 2007 at 1:15 am | In anime | 1 CommentSo, I’ve got about 31 eps of anime that I’m going to watch this week! Yay! My desktop has been down and out for a couple weeks, so I haven’t been able to get to my anime that I was in the middle of watching. Right before my eyes a few series that I was following actually ended! Surprise! So, I just spent the past hour going between my lappy, my desktop, and my external hd in order to figure out what exactly I need to catch up on. ^_^ I love the summer! OK… so… because I actually have some time to myself I’m going to list what I’ve been watching and my impressions thus far… ok… here I go:
Claymore
I’m on episode 7 right now. Pretty damn tight if you ask me! You’ve got some monsters and of course to defeat the monsters you need to create a half-breed race that shares characteristics of the monsters. Yay! I’m digging the animation quite a bit. It’s something a bit different from all of the other stuff that’s out there right now. I’ve always been a sucker for a more medieval looking anime. It’s certainly one that I’ll be looking forward to dling each week.
D.Gray-Man
Yeah… I’m sticking with it. I haven’t been able to watch it these past couple weeks because of the aforementioned compy issue, but I’ve really enjoyed it. The characters are amusing and the story is entertaining. I know there’s going to be some kind of epic battle at some point, but there’s not that same sense of foreboding as there can be in other anime. I’ll be catching up with this one this week.
![]()
Darker than Black
I don’t quite have a full opinion on this one yet. I’m only on episode three. I like it. I’m probably going to watch it until the end… I’ll give another update when I’ve watched a little more of it. From what I can tell, it’s certainly more plot based than character based thus far. That’s not usually my style, but we’ll give it a shot.
Death Note
A lot of people have seemed to have fallen off the Death Note bandwagon. Oh well… I still really like it. I kinda wish I would have started with the manga. It’s a little tougher to read the manga when the anime syncs up with it so well. I haven’t watched it in a while, so I’m looking forward to see how Light made his plan work.
Hayate No Gotoku
Hahahaha…. I’m really enjoying myself with this one. It’s pretty damn funny. All of the different anime references and what not are amusing me. Yet another I’ll look forward to dling each week. ^_^
History’s Strongest Disciple Kenichi
This is absolutely my guilty pleasure. ^_^ Fighting & fanservice!!!! Who could ask for more?! I have no idea what hooked me so bad, but somehow it did. It’s probably just the characters. There have been a few eps that I’ve literally had to pause an episode in order to stop myself from laughing.
Kaibutso Oujo
Well, I’ve already watched like 5 episodes, so I’m going to have to watch the rest of the series. If anything, I watch it simply so I could watch the ending credits. The ending reminds me of… well… I have no idea… but it’s pretty cool. It will probably be an anime I end up forgetting over time, but I have to see how it ends now.
Kaze No Stigma
OK… I know what you’re thinking… red hair, flame sword, a Shana rip off?!?! Nah… not even that interesting. You have the fire clan and the one who was supposed to become the next head of the fire clan only learned how to control wind so he was banished… aw… but apparently he became so darned powerful that he found his way back into the family… yay! Yet again, I’m going to have to see how it ends. As of right now it’s mildly entertaining to have a guy that’s not all nicey nice.
Lovely Complex
Ok… this has to be my new fav right now! I think this one is ridiculously cute! Just a regular drama, but it’s not too “high-schooly” for me, which is nice. I was worried it could have become like Bokura Ga Ita and I just would have been irritated about how it was making me feel old. >.< But it’s nothing like that. The characters are absolutely endearing and I really am emotionally invested in these characters. ^_^
Murder Princess
It’s a really short little OVA, so I’m going to finish it up happily. ^_^ I think the story is kinda interesting and the character designs are fun to look at. Yay!
Nagasarete Airantou
Harem…… there it is. Yup… nosebleeds and everything. ^_^ Might as well enjoy it for what it is. No need to judge.
Nana
Still a great show despite the fact that the fansubs are slower than snot. I’m going to stick with this show until it ends damn it!

Nodame Contabile
I’ve always enjoyed learning about a completely different part of a culture. This anime has been really fun to watch. Granted, the character development has been fairly realistic, it really has been the music and the characters’ interaction with the music that has been the most entertaining. I’m looking forward to how it’s going to end.
Seto No Hanayome
Mermaids?! eh… why not. It’s something different… It’s borderline annoying with the emo faces and what not, but it’s still entertaining. If I get really bored with it I may just wait for a group sub and just dl it all in one day. ^_^
Ok… so… there they are! Yay! This isn’t specifically an anime blog, so I won’t be updating this every time I watch an episode. I won’t have that kind of time. So, I hope you enjoyed that.
I’ll prolly post again tomorrow with just some random ramblings.
Double Feature
May 23, 2007 at 9:04 pm | In Movies, Ranting | Leave a CommentI normally find myself wrestling with my conscience on a fairly constant basis. I certainly believe in the concept of Karma and what goes around comes around (this is in no way affiliated with the Justin Timberlake song). Now, my concept of Karma might be perceived as actually rather selfish. I find that if I do one little thing wrong it comes back to bite me 20 times worse than necessary. Hence, I’m the person that will let you over in traffic, or open the door for you when I see that you have your arms full, or smile for no reason as you walk by. I don’t necessarily think that I will be rewarded for doing these things. One would think that basic acts of kindness are not completely out of fashion these days, however rare they are. I do think, however, that I will be punished for not doing these simply things. I wonder if that is still considered selfish? I mean, they come as second nature to me so I don’t consciously think “Oh gee, I should help this person so I get a few more Karma points,” yet when I, for whatever reason, find myself averting my eyes when someone is in need of help it haunts me for the rest of the day. Or, when end up doing something that is “wrong” I brood over it for a good day or two. So, what in the world does this have to do with a double feature? Well, I went to the movies the other day and I “movie hopped” with a friend of mine. Now, from what I just explained about myself and by my logic I should be feeling bad about doing something “wrong.” With the ridiculous price of movies I really don’t feel any sense of guilt. It’s possible this will come back to bite me, but I certainly don’t have any sense of remorse for seeing two movies for $7 especially considering I only have $80 to live on for the next week or so. ^_^ Now… on to the movie reviews!
Shrek the Third
I have enjoyed all of the Shrek movies immensely. The first one was so very different and unique that I couldn’t help but like it. Plus the cast was fabulous! As a fan of anime I have certainly come to appreciate voice actors and actresses, so I think that the voices and the characters matched very well. So, the second one pretty much built onto the first. There’s the addition of Puss ’n Boots voiced by the ridiculously hot Antonio Banderas…. Mmmm… He can curl up on my lap any day. O_o *cough* Anywho… As well as the addition of the Fairy Godmother. Hilarious character! Wishes as a business! Love it! It reminds me a lot of Into the Woodsby Steven Sondheim. It’s a fabulous musical about different fairy tale characters and their interactions together. The music and lyrics are great! Go see it (I think PBS did a special on it). Ok… Now onto the actual review of Shrek the Third… First off, I liked it. ^_^ The jokes were funny and and the different interactions amongst characters were well written and well acted. My only complaint is that they kept on adding and adding different characters. This is the list of the characters that had quite of bit of screen time: Shrek, Fiona, Donkey, Puss, Gingerbread Man, Pinocchio, 3 little pigs, Big Bad Wolf, Fiona’s Mom, Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel, Prince Charming, Captain Hook, about 6 more “villains” from different fairy tales, Arthur, and Merlin. O_O That was a lot to keep track of and be interested in. I know they’re trying to cater to today’s audience that has the attention span of sperm, but it was way too much. I know that there really can’t be a whole lot of character development for the Big Bad Wolf, but still… Because there was so much going on I didn’t feel that same type of “awwww” at the end. Except the little baby ogres were sooooooooo cute. ^^;; I will say I had a very good time imagining Justin Timberlake in the studio voicing Arthur. Mmmmm Justin. ^_^ Anywho… My recommendation is to go see it if you are at all invested in the Shrek movies. If you’ve seen the first two, you have a moral responsibility to see the third. There’s a lot of pop culture references like the other two, and the new characters that are introduced do have some amusement value. In all honesty, if this was the only movie I saw that day i may have been a little lackluster about it, but because I only paid $7 for one movie and saw two I felt like it was worth it. ^_~ Certainly worth the rental!!!
Spiderman III
OK… yet again, I’ve always had a love for Spiderman. Remember the cartoon that was on back in the mid to late 90s on Fox Kids? It came on either right before or right after X-Men. Anywho, even though my fav superhero will always be Batman, Spiderman is a close second. He’s just so darn “wise crackin’” and limber. O_o *cough* Anyway… I really liked this movie! It was certainly a lot more story based than the other two, but the action scenes were damn cool! I’m a sucker for a little CG and you got a ridiculous amount of CG this time! Some highlights: Spidy fights “Hobgoblin” (aka Harry). Now, it’s been a while since I’ve read the comics, but I know Hobgoblin came after the Green Goblin, but Hogoblin goes on a rampage for a while in the comics and has his own life of crime. Harry is pretty much all about killing spiderman for revenge. +5 for the scene of James Franco coming out in some boxer/briefs!! The whole romance/angst with Mary Jane. Well, I like Kirsten Dunst, so I liked the scenes with her. I though at times she was rather unreasonable… there were times were “Peter” was all excited about being Spiderman and the attention he was attracting and attempted to use his life as an example for MJ’s fading career. As a woman, I did feel bad for her. She was the one upset and he was talking about himself… Damn man… But also as a woman I have these thoughts: HOLY MACKEREL!!! YOU’RE DATING SPIDERMAN, YOU TWIT! Take the good with the bad. ^^;;There was, also the intro of Sandman. As far as the CG goes, it was pretty cool, especially as he’s trying to become solid. Even though it was probably a little lengthy for our aforementioned sperm attention span audience, I was absolutely glued to the screen. I thought Thomas Haden Church did a really great job as a “criminal” but doing it all for the family. Aw. And then, of course, what every spiderman junkie was waiting for: VENOM! Lord have mercy… So hot. Now, I will admit, my affinity for the darker side of the “hero” is just my own personal fetish (hence my love for Batman). I’ll give a -5 for the Emo greasy hair phase that “Peter” goes through while wearing the Venom suit but I will give a +5 for dance that he does. hehehehe… so great. It was cool to have my geek senses tingling and remembering Venom’s weakness. ^_^ It totally brought me back to being 10 or 11 and watching “Part III” of the Venom saga and finally figuring it out! Haha. I’m a geek. Anywho, +10 for the actual look of Venom. He was pretty dang creepy. The teeth and saliva were great! And of course, little Topher Grace as Venom was perfect. With the douche-bag bleached hair look it wasn’t difficult to detach him from his role from That 70’s Show. I think he will have a career after TV. Ok… If you’re not a Spiderman person and you didn’t like the first two there’s absolutely no reason for you to see this movie. Stan Lee even makes an appearance for crying out loud! I actually liked all three equally for different reasons. Like I said, I’m a sucker for action and comics, so this movie was perfect for me! As opposed to Shrek the Third, I would have been quite content to have only seen this movie for $7. It’s worth it to see it on the big screen! On, and btw, it was a collaboration between Danny Elfman and Christopher Young for the music and, I will say, that the score was very riveting! It’s amazing that you don’t really think of it while it’s playing, but it really does subconsciously put you into the space that the director wants you to be. ^_^
Ok… there they are! My movie reviews! Just wait until Transformers. I’m pretty sure it won’t live up to my expectations, but that’s ok. The actual Transformers look so damn cool that it won’t matter. ^____^ Oooo and Pirates III…. MmmmMMmmm. Johnny!
DONE… kinda… sorta
May 23, 2007 at 9:04 pm | In Movies, Ranting, School, Sports | Leave a CommentSo… I guess that’s it. I finally turned in my very last paper. O_o Somehow it’s not quite as spectacular as I thought it was going to be. I think it’s due to the fact that I didn’t turn it in on time. ^^;; I’m well aware that profs love their grad students, probably to an unhealthy degree and they tend to grant us certain… how do you say… liberties. Ah well. I’ve already been validated. Aparently I know what I’m talking about. Ha Ha. I really don’t think she would fail me, but it’s still that bit of uncertainty that’s going to be make me be like every other shmo on campus and check my grades every day… possibly twice a day if I’m bored. >.< Boo.
I’ll be off to the Bay area this weekend. No, not to go to the A’s game… but aparently that’s what everyone is doing. O_o btw… it sucks that the sharks didn’t make the playoffs. It would have been badass to go a game in San Jose! Hockey men… MMmmmmMMmm. I’ve got to find me a manga about hockey. I mean, they’ve got manga/anime about tennis and high jumping for crying out loud… I needs me some hockey anime! Riiiight. But anyway, I’ll be in the Bay partying it up with some cool people! Yay! I’ll be wearing a fabulous dress, so the night can only get better. ^_~
I think I’m going to see The Ex this weekend. I’m excited to see Zach in a movie that’s not borderline depressing. Garden State was amazing, but it’s not really one of those typical feel good movies…. *giggles* but I did just imagine the scene where Zach and Natalie are trying to dodge the flaming arrow that was shot up into the sky…. teeeheheheheheh.. That was funny. But Last Kiss…… O_O Holy crap! If you’re at any type of shakey place with a significant other stay far far away from that movie. Talk about hopeless!
I can’t wait for my week off!!! ^_^ It’s going to be so very nice! I think I’m probably going to clean… like really clean. Like take all the books of my shelves and dust clean. That hasn’t been done… well… since I started living here two years ago… ew. I just need to find a new place for all my books. It’s kinda ridiculous. I am a little sad, though. I’m going to have sell a few of my books in order to have money for this weekend. T___T being poor sucks.
Ok… I need to go to sleep. Lord I want to sleep in. -__- Ah well… I’ll have plenty of time for that in about a week! Yay!
Hello world!… I’ll keep this…
May 15, 2007 at 6:01 pm | In Ranting | 2 CommentsSo, I finally got myself a wordpress blog. I’ve come to find out that writing really is something that one can forget. I feel like I wrote a really well constructed and thoughtful essay when I had my exam, but ever since then nothing is really coming. I feel like I just need to continue to form sentences and pretend to be intelligent and write about things that few poeple take interest in i.e. anime, literature, the way I feel about the traffic in Sacramento, why my mom’s homemade icecream freakin’ rules. So, here goes with my thoughts for today. Look forward to many more things tthis summer. ^_^You ever wake up with that feeling of nervousness and dread? That’s what happened to me this morning. I’m trying so very hard to simply be in my little world today. It feels like everyone and everything around me will somehow cause disruption. I was so very close to saying to hell with work and putting the covers over my head for the whole day. But I actually have work to do today… so maybe I’ll treat myself to going home a little early once my work is done.
You know, I think that’s what I’m missing… A day where I literally do not go out of the house, but it has nothing to do with school. It’s funny, my body is telling me that I haven’t done crap with my life for the past 6 months, but my mind is so very very fatigued. I know that’s what this extra 5-10 lbs is. My life has been about sitting and reading… that’s it. I’ve been very mentally active, but physically I really haven’t been at all. I just need one of those “alone” days. My family is always so great about leaving me alone when I need it, but there’s just something about that feeling of being in a completely empty house. I know you know what I mean.
I think I might be freaking out over my very last paper. I had a presentation last night, but I still have a paper to turn in for my class….. I mean, that’s really it. My mind has checked out so completely that I really feel like I have nothing left for this paper. I haven’t cared this little about something… well… ever.
Anywho, I need to actually finish some work before I can justify going home early. ^_^ There might be more to say later… maybe not. In any event I’ll have fun playing around with my new internet toy! Yay!
